Are you worried your child might fall behind this summer after 9 months of hard work and progress? Does your child need to begin the program? Make up (W-Th) 28-29
You have 24 possible session days to choose from. Please try to book as densely as possible to have a bigger impact.
To make an impact, density and frequency is the key. If you can book them for 3 intense weeks, they will probably get much more out of that than if you spread it out over the 24 possible days.
15-20 sessions will make a notable difference. Less than 15 will not be productive for an intense intervention.
Sessions are 55 minutes long, but 1.5 hour sessions are a possibility depending on the student.
At minimum, a student should attend 3 times a week (or 3 hours in some cases).
To schedule your child, please call, text, or email me.
Sometimes my hours are a little flexible. It doesn’t hurt to ask!
If your child has been with me for a while, please take some time off! I can’t replace the magic of actually reading 3 to 4 times a week. On the other hand, if you KNOW they will not read independently or with you, I’m your solution!
PLEASE BE AWARE: Summer sessions are paid for in advance . If you have to miss a session, I have two make up days you can schedule at the end of July. I also can often reschedule near the missed session, so you just need to contact me to see what is available.
I do not reimburse for a missed session. Information regarding late fees, etc are included in the billing link.
For a majority of my clients, READ MOORE Tutoring is a reading intervention for students in second grade through adulthood who struggle with reading, writing, and spelling. I use an Orton-Gillingham based instructional approach called the Wilson Reading Program®. Wilson directly addresses students’ issues with reading and spelling acquisition using a repetitive and structured multisensory approach that carefully constructs and deconstructs the reading and writing processes. The Wilson program recommends 3 sessions per week.
While Wilson was was originally designed to help dyslexic students, it has been found successful for students who may share similar issues acquiring reading and writing skills. For students with a less intense deficit but who are experiencing some decoding weaknesses, I use Wilson’s Fundations or Just Words®.
While many students are here for an O-G style phonetic intervention, I have a variety of students and a variety of materials to promote fluency, accuracy, and comprehension. I also provide tutoring for students in math, providing them with hands-on O-G instruction. Twice a week is a nice fit for most students.
Whether I am using the Wilson program or another intervention, the charge is $95/session.
10 sessions $950
15 sessions $1425
20 sessions $1900
Group rates are available for students at the same level and similar pacing in the Wilson program, reading level/issue, or math level.
2 students $140/session ($70/student)
3 students $180/session ($60/student)
*If your child has had solid instruction through second grade and still struggles with reading, it maybe time to look at a full assessment from the school system or an outside source. A proper diagnosis will assist you, the school, and the tutor in providing the correct intervention. The method used to assist your child will work best when it properly addresses their area of deficit.
